Watermelon Bowl for Two

A summer cocktail perfect for backyard fun

Town Docks in Meredith is one of the true classics on the lake. Although their famous Watermelon Bowl has been replaced with an equally delightful Sand Pail Punch for two, there’s good news: you can simply make the delicious concoction in the comfort of your own home! This perfect summer drink consists of fresh watermelon blended with strawberries and the flavors of piña colada. Add some Sailor Jerry (or other) spiced rum and serve in a melon bowl with a dark rum floater or in a tall glass garnished with a cherry.

Serving Size: 2-4

Town Docks Watermelon Bowl

Ingredients:
3/4 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen pineapple (or, you can use fresh fruit along with a cup of ice)
1 1/2 cups fresh watermelon
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup cream of coconut (Coco López)
1/4 cup agave syrup

Directions:
Mix together with a blender, adding the watermelon first. If using ice, add that last.

Lightly blend in 6 ounces Sailor Jerry’s spiced rum (or a light rum).

Top each serving with a splash of dark rum.

Pour into individual glasses and decorate with whipped cream and maraschino cherries or other fruit.

To serve it like they used to at Town Docks, carve out a watermelon and pour in mixture and serve with straws. A charming face with whipped cream and cherry eyes is optional, but encouraged.
