Local Gardening Resources

Itching to get outside? Why not plant something? Here are local greenhouses and garden centers that are open and ready to help.

Farmer Hands Take Care And Protect Young Little Sprout Plant In The Soil Ground

As we continue our stay-at-home lives, spring is still happening outside our doors — buds are forming, plants are sprouting and more than a few of us are contemplating the greenness of our thumbs. New and practiced home gardeners’ thirst for seeds was so high, in fact, that gardening mainstay Burpee recently suspended new orders in an attempt to catch up with demand. Seeds were hard to come by online, period.

So forget scouring the web and think local. As with restaurants and bookstores, many greenhouses and supply centers are open, offering advice and ordering over phone and email. Plants, soil, fertilizer — all of these things can be found locally via curbside pickup, delivery or, in some cases (where special safety protocols are in place), in person.

Plant Something NH is a great statewide resource for finding a greenhouse or garden center near you, and below we’ve listed a few of our favorites.
