Thanksgiving Dinners You Don’t Have to Cook

Dine out or pick up ready-to-go meals at these NH restaurants, inns, hotels and caterers

Don’t feel like getting trapped in the kitchen this year? No one’s judging (well, we aren’t but we can’t speak for Aunt Ethel) if you want to trade in your apron and turkey baster for a night out and a menu. Here are a few places offering Thanksgiving dinner including some that will bring the feast to you. We promise not to tell if you decide to pass it off as your own.

Hart’s Turkey Farm

Since 1954, it’s been Thanksgiving every day at Hart’s in Meredith. Enjoy a meal out just like Grandma makes (and check out the restaurant’s impressive collection of Thanksgiving plates) or order the whole thing to-go. Be warned — each year hundreds of meals are ordered so make sure to call ahead with time to spare. Whether it’s Thanksgiving or not, this local institution is not to be missed. There’s a reason it’s a perennial Best of NH winner for favorite Lakes Region restaurant.

Baked Goodies

We think dessert might be just as important as the meal itself. Roasting a turkey is no easy feat, but baking is a whole new culinary world of precise measurements and good timing. If you just can’t master that perfect flaky crust, place an order online with the Best of NH award-winning Buckley’s Bakery in Café (two locations, one in Merrimack and a newer one in Hollis) for pumpkin whoopie pie, dessert trays, mini cheesecake and more sweet treats. They also have rolls, scones, muffins and more.
