Winter Retreat Cocktail with Flag Hill Spiced Rum
Warm up on a cold winter's day with Flag Hill's Spiced Rum and the Winter Retreat cocktail recipe
Starting with a high-quality molasses, Flag Hill Spiced Rum is fermented and distilled at Flag Hill Winery and Distillery in Lee. It’s given a taste of sweetness with New Hampshire maple syrup before macerating in hand-sliced Tahitian vanilla beans, cinnamon and other spices. Aging for nine months in barrels that had previously stored bourbon adds depth and a bit of smoothness. Sip it neat or use in cocktails.
Flag Hill is known for their wines, but has more recently ventured into the spirits category, making Karner Blue Gin, General John Stark Vodka and Josiah Bartlett Barrel Aged Brandy. Within the next two years they will release a bourbon that is aging now.

Winter Retreat Cocktail
- 2 ounces fresh orange juice
- 1 ounce Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur
- 2 ounces Flag Hill Spiced Rum
- Splash of soda
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon.
