Where to Find the Best Breakfast in Northern NH

Check out some of our favorite breakfast places in northern New Hampshire. Offerings include: Polly's Pancake Parlor, Yesterdays, Texas Toast Eatery, Benton's Sugar Shack and more.

Polly's Pancake Parlor

Believe the hype. Polly's has served fabulous pancakes with real maple syrup since 1939 and the tradition continues on strong. Grains are ground onsite for fresh and wholesome flavor. Mix any of their five batters with any of the four mix-ins. Don't worry, no combination is wrong. Your server cooks your order in two sets, so they are piping hot when you savor them. The bacon is great too.

Texas Toast Eatery

With a pancake place in town, this eatery tucked into the Lincoln Village mall has dolled up their French toast into a thing of beauty. The chef/owner trained under a top toque in Texas and presents his orders in an extraordinary way. It re-opens in mid-May.

Benton's Sugar Shack

Classic New Hampshire off-the-beaten-track maple sugar operation with loads of charm. In season, watch them boil it down; otherwise, order a plate of pancakes or their French toast made from bread baked by an elderly couple down the road. Smother in maple syrup. Congratulate yourself for finding this place. Take the kids — they'll love feeding the ducks in the pond.

Kitchen Cravings

What a breakfast place should look like — this sunny spot has plenty of windows and loads of quaint kitsch for your amusement. The owner has traveled extensively and brought back his favorite versions of breakfast classics. The hash in the Benedict is cooked down in cream for a less salty taste. Challenge the chef to make a pancake in any animal shape. ($4.99)
