Tuscan Market
Take home a taste of Italy
Cancel that trip to Tuscany, we have found you a closer Italian experience. The Tuscan Kitchen has been open for two years to rave reviews, but recently the same owners opened a marketplace in a new building serviced by the same parking lot.
In a word, it’s overwhelming. Like an outdoor market in Italy, you can find all the authentic ingredients needed for a spaghetti sauce or roast leg of lamb. Fresh produce includes a variety of herbs and heirloom tomatoes, and dry goods include imported olive oils, balsamic vinegars and wine.
Get cooking or not. You can just buy the finished sauces from Bolognese to pomodoro and fresh-rolled pasta for cutting to shape or lobster and mushroom raviolis the same as they serve in the restaurant. The deli case also displays fresh Italian sandwiches with a variety of imported meats and cheeses, oven-roasted vegetables, lasagna and a selection of grain salads, including farro. A case with specialty meats includes rabbit and Niman Ranch ham. The onsite butchery offers pork and beef steaks of every shape and selection.
Find a variety of fresh breads daily and the desserts — oh my. Beautiful cakes, tortes and cookies dazzle from their cases.
Order paninis and salads and a cookie or two and enjoy at the café tables or leather seating surrounded with a nice selection of cookbooks by Mary Ann Esposito.
Most visitors can’t resist the gelato case with flavors ranging from tiramisu to PB&J. Hey, not everyone is Italian.
