The Soup Guy
Time for the original comfort food
The Soup Guy, Curtis Gould of Dover, is bringing home-made soup to the masses. Well, to at least a local winter market near you and even online through amazon.com (ships frozen from his kitchen).
Although not a professional chef, Curtis has always loved to cook and soups have always been one of his passions.
Whenever possible The Soup Guy uses locally grown ingredients from local producers along the seacoast of New Hampshire, southern Maine and other parts of New England. He uses only certified organic and all-natural produce that is grown without the use of commercial fertilizers and pesticides. His vegetable and chicken broth in his soups is made using only locally grown and often organic produce. That's making soup the way grandma would have.
The Soup Guy fresh soups include "Ole Mole Chili," a 100-percent gluten-free vegan chili that is made with black beans, kidney beans, green lentils, organic non-GMO textured vegetable protein (TVP), corn, onions, peppers, rice, tomato, sea salt, black pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, red pepper sauce, bay leaf, orange juice, dark coffee and organic vegetable stock. His special mole sauce gives the chili a richness and full body by using organic Guatemalan Cocoa or chocolate and dark roasted Italian Espresso Coffee. "Potato Dijon Vichyssoise" is 100-percent gluten-free and is made with organic potato, onion, romaine lettuce, green onion, leek, celery, Dijon mustard, black pepper and organic vegetable stock. His Corn N' Bacon Chowdah does not use heavy cream or milk and instead is made using low-fat Greek yogurt. Most of his soups are lower in sodium than canned varieties too.
Soups are available online through his website. Also check his Facebook page for markets and fairs.
