Tavern 27 Tapas and Piano Bar

Take in creative tapas at this Laconia spot

This small and intimate eatery is truly a hidden gem of the Lakes Region. In season, you can find produce from the half-acre garden the restaurant operates down the road and meats from local farms. The menu features American tapas on small plates, including fried calamari, haddock bites, a mezze platter and a selection of “inside-out poppers” (think cheese stuffed with jalapeño rather than the reverse). Open-faced sandwiches on sourdough include La Suina ($10), pictured, and the creative sourdough pizza options include the Forager with local mushrooms and caramelized onions. The wine list offers biodynamic wines, and the Tavern Tinies are interesting. Reservations, even at the bar — and especially at the piano bar — are highly recommended. Get there early for a quick round on the 9-hole, par-3 golf course. Why Tavern 27? A score of 27 would be a perfect game on the course.
