Local Food at Graze Sustainable Table

Beef, pork and chicken served at Graze come from the owners' nearby farm

If you are looking for a dinner made with locally sourced ingredients, then the ultimate can be found at Graze Sustainable Table in New London. They own the farm that produces humanely raised beef, pork and, more recently, chicken. The 500-acre 3J Farms is located 15 miles east of New London. Inspired by Michael Pollan, they adjusted the beef feed program to 100 percent grass feed. The animals are antibiotic-free and no hormones are used to promote growth.

The seafood offered is on the Monterey Bay “Seafood Watch List” as the “Best Choice” for sustainability. Cheeses are from New Hampshire’s Brookford Farm and Boggy Meadow Farm. Local bakers provide the sandwich bread for lunch and bagels for breakfast. Milk, cream and butter are also purchased from Haverhill and Vermont farms.

The dinner menu offers, for starters, everything from an artisan cheese plate to a 3J Farms tenderloin carpaccio to BBQ ribs with their own milk-fed pork. Entrées up the ante to fennel-crusted salmon, pork belly mac and cheese and a classic grilled New York sirloin. Chicken and lamb are also raised at the farm and served at the restaurant. Find live entertainment at 9 p.m. on Saturday evenings. The Chef/General Manager is Jeff Lewis, formerly of the New London Inn.

Open for lunch and dinner daily, open for breakfast Saturdays from 9 a.m. and brunch on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
