LaBelle Winery

How to use LaBelle Winery's wines in your holiday recipes.

The new LaBelle Winery facility in Amherst is a sight to see. You might even think you took a wrong turn and ended up in Napa. A visit is an experience in itself complete with awe-inspiring architecture, a flaming caldron, café with small menu, wine tastings and wine-related gifts.

In addition to their usual fruit and grape wines, consider the Winemaker's Kitchen label offering Sweet Onion, Heirloom Tomato and Jalapeno Pepper cooking wines. Actually you can sip them, too. Add the onion and pepper to chilis and stew and the tomato to a vinaigrette.

Here's their Bloody Mary recipe: 3 ounces Jalapeño Pepper Wine, 1 ½ cups Bloody Mary mix or tomato juice, ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/8 teaspoon horseradish, if desired.
