Fine Wines at Nashua's Cava de Vino
Quality wines and artisanal specialty food items at Cava de Vino
As a former restaurateur, Steve Williams of Cava de Vino in Nashua continues his relationship with quality artisan wines — this time for his clients to take home.
His specialty shop boasts a nice selection of wines that Williams has hand selected from his travels for quality and value. Tastings are held on a regular basis or Cava de Vino offers private tasting events in area homes with a program called Wine Down at Home.
The host invites 12 to 18 friends over and Williams and his team do the rest. They bring five select bottles of wine to taste and a selection of local cheeses and artisanal chocolates. Wines sampled are only available through the parties or in the store. In addition, a selection of wines are offered online.
Williams’ recommendations for the fall and the coming sweater weather range from a full-bodied Château de Haute-Serre, Malbec 2011, $24, to Brunello di Montalcino, Martina 2007, $62, to San Roman, Toro, 2006, $76 — all full-bodied reds.
Tastings are available on weekends. In addition to the wine selection, Williams also searches for artisanal food specialty items, including a tangerine balsamic vinegar and infused virgin olive oils.
