Wolfe's Tavern at The Wolfeboro Inn
Both Jimmy Fallon host of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and Mitt Romney have ties to the Lakes Region, specifically Wolfoboro. With that in mind, Wolfe's Tavern at the Wolfboro Inn has offered up the perfect solution for their "Burger Summit." The Winnie burger has horseradish BBQ sauce, girdled marinated grape tomatoes, crisp fried onions, arugula and mild cheddar cheese ($13.95). Meanwhile, The Mac & Cheese burger is topped with house made penne & cheese, bacon, red onion, grape tomatoes and balsamic-tossed arugula ($13.50).

White Mountain Cider Company
Monday is burger-and-a-beer night. Each week Chef/owner Teresa Stearns and her team take a break from their fine dining menu to offer locals a great deal on creatively dressed burgers sided by a beer of their choice. Weekly offerings have included a chili spice option with tortilla chips, pico de gallo, avocado cream and shredded lettuce on a brioche bun. Their quinoa burger and turkey burger are part of the deal too. The extra-thick Cider Mill burger shown here is topped with wilted spinach, tomato chutney, roasted portabella, cheddar cheese, applewood-smoked bacon and sided with hand-cut fries.

Libby's Bistro & SAaLT PUB

Post-hike, this is the place to go for a satisfying burger that’s flavored to perfection and set on a house-baked roll. Chef/owner Liz Jackson also runs the star of the north, Libby’s Bistro. Jackson came back to Gorham a number of years ago to raise her family after a stint with Julia Child. Locals and lucky travelers have praised her food and ambience-filled restaurants and it keeps getting better. As one Yelper put it … “find a reason to go to Gorham.”

Omni Mount Washington Resort
Just about every excess is on this burger. It starts with the delicacy of ground veal that is topped with a perfect slab of foie gras (pictured at right). Just for fun they also add a fried egg and caramelized red onions. Enjoy for dinner while breathing in the history of this grand, grand hotel.
