Writers' Guidelines

Our editorial calendar, which includes our monthly and seasonal themes, is available here.

Articles typically run 1200 to 2000 words and we feature lifestyle, home, cuisine, adventures and other compelling topics of NH human interest. Last Laugh and Capitol Offenses departments run under 600 words. We purchase the right to take works that appear in our magazine and reuse them online.

Short articles (100 to 600 words) and photos that tell a story for our UpFront section are recommended for anyone trying to break into our stable of writers and photographers.

Simultaneous submissions are OK as long as you let us know and keep us posted if you sell elsewhere.

Feel free to send queries or manuscripts by e-mail. For regular queries, enclose an S.A.S.E. and give us a month or so to respond. We work at least a few months in advance and it’s usually best to submit seasonal stories a year in advance unless you already have suitable photography.
