The Roaring 20s at the Currier

In celebration of The Big Read: Southern New Hampshire Reads “The Great Gatsby,” the Currier is throwing a Roaring 20s party! Step back in time to the age of speakeasies, the Charleston, and silent film. Experience 1920s silent film comedies with live musical accompaniment by Jeff Rapsis at 6 pm and 7 pm. The café will feature “bathtub gin” and professionals from Kathy Blake Dance Studios will perform the Charleston at 6:30 pm. Be sure to wear your flapper dress or zoot suit-the best costume will win a prize!
5:30 p.m. – Public Museum Tour “Art of The Great Gatsby Era”
6 p.m. – Film Screening: One Week starring Buster Keaton
6:30 p.m. – Dance Performance
7 p.m. – Film Screening: Mama Behave starring Charley Chase
7:30 p.m. – Best Costume Announcement
$10 members, $20 non-members
