Sample the Wines of the World in Portsmouth

The Wine Expo NH offers hundreds of wines for the tasting to benefit Great Bay student scholarships

Vino lovers, listen up—this event is for you.

Wine Expo NH, put on by Horizon Beverage and the Great Bay Community College Hospitality Program, features more than 100 wines from vineyards across the world. Attendees can sample wines throughout the walk-around tasting room and have all your wine questions answered by experts on hand. Representatives from each participating winery will be in attendance to field questions about their wines, and students from the Great Bay Hospitality Management program can assist with all of your general questions about the beverages at the event. Best of all, your ticket purchase is totally guilt-free—proceeds benefit student scholarships at Great Bay.

Robert Mondavi, Clos du Bois, Concha Y Toro, Ruffino, Tattinger Champagne, Domaine Carneros, Louis Jadot, Kenwood, Banfi, Joseph Phelps, Frescobaldi, Masi, Spellbound, St. Francis, and Sonoma Cutrer wines will all be available, but the tasting doesn't stop at reds and whites.

Local food vendors will present their wares at the event, too. Rye's Seaport Fish and Portsmouth-based chef Steve Harding will have booths at the event to show off all the best foods to accompany your newfound favorite wines, and artisanal cheese and carving stations will round out the edible selections.

Find a wine you simply can't live without? All the wines at the expo will be available for purchase (with a fifteen percent discount for customers taking home six or more bottles), so you can take home a bottle of whatever strikes your fancy.

Tickets are $40 or $30 for students (ages 21 and up, that is) with valid ID.
