On Tap for CASA

It's time to register for the 12-hour barstool challenge to benefit CASA of New Hampshire

Think of this as a marathon for people who hate running. Or walking. Or really any kind of race that involves moving. On Tap For CASA, happening March 23, 2019 at New England’s Tap House Grille in Hooksett, is a barstool marathon. This 12-hour challenge requires you (or one of your teammates) to occupy a seat at the bar from 12 p.m.-12 a.m.

New Hampshire Magazine is a proud sponsor (and participant) of this event to benefit CASA of New Hampshire. CASA supports New Hampshire’s abused and neglected children by providing them with a compassionate volunteer advocate to be their voice in court. You can learn more here.

Teams of four to 10 participants must raise at least $1,000 for a bar stool, or $1,2000 if they sign up after December 3. Money can be donated by you, your teammates, through corporate sponsorship or good old-fashioned team fundraising. Of course, you are encouraged to raise over the minimum! As the event enters the third year, organizers have their eyes set on a goal of $50,000. To put that in perspective, over two years combined, On Tap raised about $60,000.

The event has much more going on than just sitting in a chair for 12 hours. Each hour of the challenge includes entertainment and friendly competition. Remember though – one teammate must always be seated! At the end of the night, teams can win prizes for the most money raised and the coveted top spot in the team competition, which includes trivia, a wing-eating contest, bingo, a stein-hosting challenge hosted by Samuel Adams and the ever-popular, over-the-top lip sync battle. This year winners will have their names inscribed on a trophy that will be proudly displayed at New England's Tap House Grille all year long.

The event’s host, New England’s Tap House Grille, will create a special menu for participants. Additionally, local breweries will offer free samples, you can enjoy live music, there will be 50/50 drawings and you are welcome to purchase additional food and drink.
