NH Humanities Council Dinner with Azar Nafisi

This year's fundraiser features Azar Nafisi, the bestselling author of "Reading Lolita in Tehran."

This year’s dinner features keynote speaker award-winning author and human rights activist Azar Nafisi. The event gathers the state’s corporate, civic, academic and philanthropic communities for networking and inspiration and raises funds for the Council.

Azar Nafisi is best known as the author of the international bestseller "Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books," which electrified its readers
with a compassionate and often harrowing portrait of the Islamic revolution in Iran and how it affected one university professor and her students.

"Reading Lolita in Tehran" is an incisive exploration of the transformative powers of fiction in a world of tyranny. The book spent more than 100 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into 32 languages.

Tickets for the Council's main fundraising event of the year are $125 per person and support its mission of bringing opportunities for life-long learning to every corner of the state through more than 600 free programs each year.
