We love a good beer, but a beer that has been brewed to celebrate women in honor of International Women’s Day? Sign us up as taste testers. Brewed at Lithermans Limited in Concord, this special IPA will be released on March 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. The 6.4 percent New England-style IPA, Made for Walking, uses the exclusive “Pink Boots Hop Blend” created by grower-owned hops supplier YCH HOPS for this this special Pink Books Society project.
Brewer Sharon Curley, also known as Dropkick, was joined by her mother, Julie Curley and Janet Sisson, who works at the tasting room at Lithermans, and a host of industry women who stopped in to create their IPA brew during the 12-hour Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day. A portion of funds raised from sales of Made For Walking will go to the Pink Boots Society, a nonprofit providing educational opportunities to female movers and shakers in the beer industry.
The organization was founded in 2007 to assist, inspire and encourage women beer industry professionals to advance their careers through education. To date, Pink Boot Society provides more than 1,500 members with scholarship opportunities, job resources and industry information.
Lithermans is one of many breweries participating in this international event – there are 240 registered teams brewing in 46 states and 10 countries.
Grab your family and friends, put on your pink boots and enjoy the release of this unique Pink Boots IPA that celebrates the power of women.
