Lobster Roll Eating Contest

If you’re a lobster roll fanatic and love the annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival then you’re going to love the 2nd Annual Lobster Roll Eating Contest. That’s right, it’s the best of both worlds and the Seafood Festival organizers want you to show them what you’ve got.The Lobster Roll Eating Contest will take place on Saturday, September 10at 2:30 p.m. at the Seafood Festival but before you can partake in the big showdown, you’ll have to qualify for your spot.Two qualifying rounds will take place at the 401 Tavern in Hampton; one on July 12 and another on August 16. On those two nights, hungry participants will eat there way through hot dogs and the top six competitors from each round will earn the right to compete in the finals (and eat all the lobster rolls they can!).The contest is open to anyone 18 years and older and applications can be found at www.hamptonbeachseafoodfestival.com.If you’re not much for all-you-can-eat contests, be sure to attend this year’s Hampton Beach Seafood Festival on September 9 through September 11. The Festival features more than 60 of the seacoast’s top restaurants serving an abundance of mouthwatering seafood and non-seafood items, more than 80 arts and crafts vendors, live music and entertainment, a skydiving demonstration, fireworks and a beer and wine garden.
