Hot Baths for Cool Living

For years the bath was just a place to serve the necessities of life. All that has changed — now there are showers like a tropical downpour, toilets that do the job for you, personal saunas with healthful benefits and more

1. Grohe’s new 16-inch Jumbo Rainshower sports 252 water nozzles delivering outstanding shower performance even at lower water pressures. It also features “Speed Clean” for easy anti-lime maintenance.

2. The Neorest by Toto is the ultimate toilet. A lid that automatically opens and closes, bidet cleansing with pulsating washing, hands-free flush, warm air dryer, built-in air purifying system and an adjustable heated seat.

3. The Temazkal by BainUltra is a dry heat sauna environment that includes thermotherapy, light therapy, aromatherapy and integrated mist atomizer for improved circulation, skin purifying, soothing muscle aches and more.

4. Heavy glass turns a bathroom into a place of beauty. Made with 3/8-inch glass, these doors perfectly combine form with function. Their luxurious look and feel are like that of fine crystal, plus all the beautiful tile work in your bath is in clear view. Basco frameless tub and shower enclosures,

5.The Escale freestanding bath by Kohler takes its inspiration from Japanese ceramic tableware design. It is available with chromatherapy and massage options. The look can be complemented with basins, vanity tops and lavatories.

The York Show House guest bath by Amy Thompson of Standard of New England was a total makeover. Thompson took the ’80s updated bath and made it look like it had always been there. Starting with the floor, she painted it a dark chocolate brown since tile is impractical on an uneven floor. The new clawfoot tub was given a“telephone handset” hand shower by Butler Mill for a relaxing shower European-style. The ring-type shower curtain maintains the period look and adds a bit of privacy. The commode is a Toto with G-Force action for super flushing ability.
