Fresh From the Oven
Spicy and sweet! In a blind taste test, our staff compared three N.H.-made molasses cookies from around the state. Here’s what they thought.
And the Winner Is…
Black Forest Café & BakeryThese are seriously big cookies – if you order one, you might want to split it with a friend. Or not. With a nice molasses flavor and an aftertaste of spice, these treats won out as the staff favorite. Like the co-op cookies, sugar on top gave a nice little crunch.

Concord Co-Op MarketThe Celery Stick Café inside the Concord Cooperative Market boasts a great bakery. The cookies from the co-op were of a generous size without being too big to eat in one sitting, had a nice moist texture and a strong flavor of ginger. Sugar crystals sprinkled on top added a nice slight crunch.

Blackberry BakeryYou could – and just might – eat three or four of these small but flavorful cookies. They might be gone in a few bites, but they pack a big molasses taste. If you’re headed to the Blackberry Bakery, note that they moved from Derry to a new location in Londonderry.
