Fire on the Mountain Chili Fest

If you’re ready to add more heat to an already-hot summer, make sure to check out the annual Henniker Rotary Club’s Chili Fest on August 21 from 1p.m. – 4p.m.

This annual cookoff event attracts nearly 2,000 visitors to Pat’s Peak Ski Area in Henniker each year and the Festival proceeds benefit local, regional, and international service and humanitarian projects sponsored by the Rotary Club.

Although it’s too late to participate in the cookoff, everyone is invited to attend the event and sample the great chili recipes vying for the top prize. The competition is divided into two contests – one division for amateurs and another for professionals and restaurants. Event attendees will be able to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award and there will also be a panel of judges for overall winners.

Besides chili sampling and voting, there will be a hot dog and hamburger barbeque, classic car show, musical entertainment, and plenty of activities just for kids including face painting, carnival games, bounce houses and a dunk tank.
