Chowing for charity: MPAL Benefit Dinner

Enjoy a gourmet meal for a great cause

Looking for a way to give back to your community this week? New England's Tap House Grille has you covered with their MPAL Culinary Program Benefit Dinner.

As you may recall from our July issue, the facilities of the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) got a major facelift this year courtesy of Building on Hope. From their newly-renovated digs on Beech Street, MPAL offers free sports training and recreational and academic services to at-risk youth. The renovations brought MPAL a new boxing gym and workout center, remodeled game and study rooms, and more, but one room in particular caught the Tap House's eye: MPAL's new kitchen. The renovation remodeled and upgraded the culinary space but didn't fill it with the day-to-day supplies needed to make it functional.

That's where you come in.

Tap House's MPAL benefit, happening on Thursday, September 22, aims to raise funds to help the league kit out their kitchen. Your ticket to the event helps support this great cause, and it also gets you a spot at the table for a delicious four-course meal.

The seasonal menu for the benefit dinner features a fall harvest soup with bacon, white beans and butternut squash; an apple and pear arugula salad; autumn spiced chicken breast with candied pecans and cranberry butter (served with roasted spaghetti squash and potato latkes); and, of course, a cinnamon creme-glazed pumpkin roll for dessert.

Tickets are available now for the Thursday night dinner, so reserve your spot now for an evening of chowing down for charity.
