Celebrate summer's beauty at the Nashua Garden Tour

Celebrate the New England summer with Friends of Symphony NH’s annual Nashua Garden Tour on July 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tour attendees are granted access to visit six premiere gardens in the height of summer bloom, each with its own diversity of plantings.
The tour begins at the home of Kathie Martin at 5 Royal Court in Merrimack, which has a garden that includes the colors of over 3,000 annuals. These radiant gardens are exemplary of the charm and whimsy of classic New England country gardening.
The next stop on the tour is the garden of Anna Villa, a hobby gardener who created a regal, Roman-style garden that includes plants she enjoys and has found to survive the New England seasons.
Eileen and Don Vandenburgh completely transformed their fixer-upper of a home into an urban oasis and haven for birds, butterflies and bees. Their “DIY” garden is unique with their use of old household items such as a CD rack and computer desk.
Barb Young has dubbed her garden “The Little Big Garden.” This modestly sized garden is home to continually growing plants, with no lack in variety.
Donna Cohen, with inspiration from her mother’s garden, has realized her vision of a rustic, tiered garden that's alive with blooms and has a patio surrounded by trees.
Liz Barbour has decorated the oldest house in Hollis with a mouthwatering edible garden. This dream cottage garden has been featured on "New Hampshire Chronicle" and in New Hampshire Magazine and is an inspiration for any food or garden enthusiast.
On Saturday, the tour ends with a wine tasting and live music on the patio of the Fulchino Vineyard from 2-3:30 p.m. There really is nothing quite like summer in New England, and the Nashua Garden Tour is the best way to experience all the color and fragrance this fleeting season has to offer.
