The Jumper Classic

September 2-6, Hampton Falls

This Labor Day weekend head to the Seacoast for a premier social and sporting event, the Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic. Though the Classic is celebrating its 20th anniversary, this is only New Hampshire’s second time hosting the event. The Classic includes multiple horse jumping events, culminating in the $75,000 AGA Grand Prix. A series of charity luncheons, live performances, boutique booths and much more round out the schedule.

A Guide to the 2009 Jumper Classic

WEEKDAY HIGHLIGHTS
Truly a family event, the Jumper Classic runs from Wednesday, September 2, to Sunday, September 6. People of all ages will come to watch and participate in a variety of activities including many different levels of jumping shows, shopping at Boutique Village, meet & greets with Olympic riders and charity luncheons.

Wednesday: Free admission. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. for three jumping shows showcasing the event’s youngest riders.

Thursday: Free admission. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. for more jumping shows. At 4:30 p.m. a press conference and a meet & greet will be held under one of the tents.

Friday: Free admission. Gates open at 10:30 for various shows. The $10,000 Welcome Stake is quite the highlight.

FAMILY DAY
Saturday: Admission is $20 per adult, $15 for children over 13 and children under 13 are free. Family Day opens at 10 a.m. as the Boutique Village vendors open. Activities including pony rides, contests and races begin at 11 a.m. Prizes and giveaways will be awarded to children and families. Two luncheons will be held at 11:30 a.m. The highlight of the day is the $15 Mohegan Sun Derby.

GRAND PRIX DAY
Sunday: Admission is $25 for adults, $15 for children over 6 and children under 6 are free. Gates open at 10 a.m. Highlights of the morning and early afternoon include The World opening ceremonies, the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Troops, a sky diving show, musical performances and the $15,000 Equine Insurance Services Speed Stake. The “mane” event, the Fidelity Investments AGA Grand Prix, will begin at 2:30 p.m. Winners and the $75,000 prize will be awarded at 5 p.m.

WHEN TO DRESS UP: THE LUNCHEONS
The time to get all dolled up, toast champagne and don a fancy hat is during the charity lunches on the weekend. Ladies, sport the most elaborate hat you can find and enter the Ladies’ Best Hat Competition during the Saturday luncheons.

Saturday
11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: City to Saddle Benefit Luncheon. Tickets are $75 and include admission, parking, and lunch with a wine bar, served ringside under the City to Saddle tent. City to Saddle gives a wide range of disadvantaged, undeserved children access to horsemanship programs. Visit www.citytosaddle.org for more details.

11:30 a.m.-4:30 a.m.: UNH Therapeutic Riding Fundraiser. Tickets are $65 and include admission, parking, a buffet lunch with a wine bar, serve ringside under a private tent. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and other fun prizes. The UNH Therapeutic Riding Equine Center provides equine therapy in the great outdoors for those with cognitive, physical and emotional challenges. For more information, visit www.trp.unh.edu.

Sunday: VIP champagne luncheon with ringside seating. Tickets are $165 are include admission to the luncheon catered by Gourmet Caterers, a complimentary bar, VIP parking and a program book. Also available are VIP tables for ten priced at $1,625.00. In addition to all of the above, your name will be listed in the program book. Corporate table sponsorship is also available for $2,500.
