“New England’s Oldest ‘Family Fair’®” – the Deerfield Fair – opens October 1 for its 133rd year.

The fair kicks off on Thursday at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremonies, followed by a huge variety of events until it all ends on Sunday evening.

A sampling of events for Thursday:

9 a.m. Horse Show Opens – Horse Show Ring
9 a.m. OPENING CEREMONY
10 a.m. Farm Horse Competition – Tractor Pull Area
10 a.m. Woodsman’s Contest – Special Events Area
11a.m. The Holy Cow, Mr. Pig & Bully Show – Show Stage
1 p.m. BJ Hickman Master Magician – Relaxation Grove Stage
1:30 p.m. Susie Burke & David Surrette – On the Bandstand
2 p.m. 4-H Scavenger Hunt – 4-H Building – Open to the Public
3:30 p.m. The Flying Wallendas Family Circus – Show Stage
6:30 p.m. Jillian Cardarelli – 16-year-old Singer-Show Stage
7 p.m. Shep Spinney Country Music Singer – Relaxation Grove Stage

Children 12 & under: FREE
Senior Citizens (60+) Thursday and Friday: $5

<b>Ticket specials:</b>

Bracelet Day is Friday $20 for all rides from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
New: Sunday $20 for all rides from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
