This original one-woman play dramatizes Melba Patillo Beals’ searing memoir of the battle to integrate Little Rock’s Central High, through the lens of a contemporary young activist who questions: “What does a warrior look like? What is worth fighting for? Can a young person change the world?”
Employing sophisticated video technology, original music, spoken word, poetry, and prose, the show will be a catalyst for deeper discussion about social responsibility, civil discourse, social media, community engagement and freedom.
The show is a collaboration between The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, The University of Connecticut’s Department of Digital Media and Design, and TheaterWorksUSA.
