The Face of Community Nursing

Susan A. Reeves, EdD, RN, Chief Nursing Executive for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System & Executive VP for D-H Research & Education

The public ranks nursing as one of the top most trusted professions, and Susan A. Reeves, EdD, RN, chief nursing executive for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, takes that designation seriously. She has devoted much of her career to mentoring and teaching student nurses – having also served as a professor and dean of Colby-Sawyer College Nursing. The highest-ranking nurse leader for the state’s only academic health system, Reeves sets strategic direction for nursing across the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system. With oversight for thousands of nurses across the region, Reeves is passionately committed to ensuring the nursing workforce continues to grow and thrive. “Our nurses are proud, compassionate and resilient,” she says. “They demonstrate these attributes, not only in times of crisis, but every day in how they provide care for our patients, families and their colleagues. I have the best job in the world at the best place in the world.”
