Capturing transitional moments from dawn to dusk, a two-month show of oil paintings by Christopher Volpe will open with a public reception from 5 to 8 p.m. during Portsmouth’s monthly “Art Round Town” gallery walk on Friday, January 4.
The paintings in “Turning Point” vary from inches to feet. In this body of work, Volpe focuses on “turning points” in nature, with the intention being “to celebrate the transitional moments,” he said, such as dawn, dusk, changeable skies, or the hours and minutes just before or after a storm.
“Turning Point” will remain on exhibit at Kennedy Gallery and Framing through the months of January and February. More information is available at www.kennedygalleryandframing.com, and Volpe’s work can also be seen at www.christophervolpe.com.
