Love, Lust and Desire: A Valentine's Art Show

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

"Seeking Harmony" by Debbie Kinson.

FYI

"Love, Lust and Desire" is on view from Jan. 31-Feb. 17. The reception is Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. The snow date is Feb. 10.

Forget the chocolate and candlelight dinner - or maybe just save those for after you explore the "Love, Lust and Desire" show at McGowan Fine Art in Concord. More than 60 artists will show their ideas and interpretations of "love" in artworks that are 11" x 8" or smaller.

Everything is for sale, says gallery owner Sarah Chaffee, with the highest price set at $300. Some, she adds, are available for as little as $7.50. "It's a good date night," Chaffee explains. "Bring a date, buy them a valentine and then head out for dinner." As items are sold new pieces will be displayed, meaning the show will be ever-changing.

Love means different things from person to person - perhaps it's a love of animals or nature that inspired the artist, so expect to see a wide range of subjects.

McGowan Fine Art is located at 10 Hills Ave.
