Fire Up The Grill

Smoky and Spicy! In a blind taste test, our staff compared four N.H. barbecue sauces from around the state. Here’s what they thought.

Beasley’s Barbecue Sauce

This traditional barbecue sauce has a good balance between heat and a sweet smoky flavor. This is a great sauce if you’re feeding a crowd — great for those who want some spice, but not too hot for everyone else to enjoy.

Amelia Maes & Co.

Goodies Barbecue Sauce from Amelia Maes has that wonderful homemade taste. For those who like a sweeter barbecue taste, this is the sauce for you. This version has molasses, brown sugar and just a hint of spice.

Ledge Top Sugar House

The Maple Barbecue sauce from Ledge Top Sugar House stands out from all the rest. Sweet and spicy, this sauce has a much thinner consistency than the others, making it ideal as a marinade or dipping sauce.

And the Winner Is...

Mizuna Market and Café

It wasn’t easy to pick a winner, but when it came down to it the sauce from Mizuna Café came out on top. It has a little bit of everything — it’s sweet, smoky and packs a nice kick of spice. When heading outside for a backyard barbecue, we recommend you stop in at Mizuna for your sauce supplies.
