Holiday House Tour 2011

December 3 and 4
Noon to 4 p.m.

Five homes in the Nashua area will be filled with holiday spirit and the music of the season. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of. You may start at 52 Parish Hill Drive, Nashua. Online tickets are available at www.nashuasymphony.org

Planning on decking the halls in a grand way this season? Or even if you just want to add some fresh inspiration to your usual efforts, a holiday house tour is a great source of ideas, both grand and practical. Here, we bring you the work of several talented designers in the Nashua area who volunteered on behalf of the Friends of the Nashua Symphony to help raise funds for the Nashua Symphony.

The Holiday House Tour 2010 ranged from a Victorian home to an Edwardian Manse to newer construction, with each decorated from door to deck.

Don't forget the three-season porch, it's a great space you can set up ahead of time and then enjoy on warmer days with a cup of hot cocoa.

The silver tree in the dining room is a study in a single color for impact.

Elizabethan Formmel always installs an impressive arrangement in the gracious foyer. This one is from Lotus Designs in Boston.

Pewter mugs were strung on ribbon for a great door decoration. They mad a natural reciptical for additional greens.

Don't forget the three-season porch is a great space to bring in natural materials without worrying about the litter.

The table design was kept simple with a white and green motif using pine, eucalyptus, artichokes and arbor vitae accented with white roses.

The same simple combination of white and green is used on the buffet in the dining room. When placed in front of a mirror the effect and light from the candles doubles.

The colors of Chanukah, blue and white, are featured in the kitchen with simple stems of hydrangeas in vivid blue vases.

Rust and green magnolia leaves are draped across the fireplace mantle.

Antoinette Drouart created a frozen candle Star of David for the outdoor table.

Hydrangeas and orchids in a freestyle Ikebana arrangement are the centerpiece of the warm living area filled with local art.

The Victorian house was lovingly restored by the homeowners over the past eight years.

A grand piano is the focal point of the rounded room, part of a central tower that culminates in a turret, a hallmark of Queen Anne architecture. Lovely wallpapers were the perfect foil for classic Christmas décor.
