Video: Redhook Celebrates 30 Years

Redhook_Anniversary

We had a chance to try some of Redhook's tasty brews earlier this month, including the Brewers Backyard Series Red Lager.

Back in March Redhook Brewery kicked off the year-long celebration of its 30th anniversary with its new shortneck bottle design and logo. The celebration has continued ever since (you may have heard about or attended the huge Redhook Fest that took place in early August. See a few photos here.), so we decided to check in with this Portsmouth landmark to see what they've been up to. Our summer intern Lauren Barber caught up with brewer Andy Schwartz and put together the following video.

Need another excuse to visit Redhook? Right now the Red Lager is a great reason. This special "New Hampshirized" version of a German Märzen beer is available at the Cataqua Public House (you'll also find it in a few bars and restaurants around New England, but going to the source is probably your best bet). This Brewery Backyard Series beer is only on tap for a limited amount of time so make sure you get it while you can - and don't forget to keep an eye out to see what the creative brewers dream up next.

*October Update: The Extra Special Birthday Beer (ESBB) has replaced the Red Lager as the next Brewery Backyard Series. Before you visit, make sure to check in with Redhook to see which Brewery Backyard Series beer is currently offered.
