Building a Better Brownie: "The Pig & Me"

"The Pig & Me" breaks the mold of boring business books.

One woman's tale of sweetness and life.

Most books about business are a bit of a snooze - informative, sure, but certainly not page-turners. "The Pig & Me" by Wolfebobo resident Lindsay Frucci is a rare exception to that.

Frucci shows she can not just create a successful business, literally from scratch, but can also tell the story of it with exceptional, can't-put-the-book-down writing.

She traces her product - No Pudge! fat-free brownies - from its invention in her kitchen to the sale of the company years later for an undisclosed amount of money (but no doubt lots).

A happy ending, until you read the epilogue. There you find a heartbreaking turn of events for Frucci and her family - or we should say another one.

We know of the others because Frucci throughout the book candidly shares the difficulties - both financial and medical - the family faced during the time she built the business.

Frucci, though, takes on both her professional and personal challenges with inspiring courage and creativity. You can - and definitely should - get the book on Amazon.com and at select independent book stores.
