Veggie Burgers and Other Healthy Options



The Port Authority Café (Facebook) in Keene is quickly becoming a vegan/vegetarian mecca. Their veggie burger is made with portobello mushrooms, zucchini, quinoa and Parmesan cheese. It’s topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pea shoots, Havarti cheese and avocado. It sells for $9.50.

Blue Moon Evolution in Exeter started as a health food store and the tradition continues with owner Kath Gallant. On Wednesday evenings, in addition to local beef burgers, they offer their house-made veggie patties dressed for the occasion.

Cotton in Manchester offers a grilled Blue Mango burger sourced from Portland, Maine, with a spicy honey chipotle aioli.

Molly’s Restaurant and Bar in Hanover has a variety of options other than beef, including a new one with caramelized apple and pork for $15.

At Susty’s Café in Northwood, you can have your veggie burger with fresh veggie juice. Yes, it is a vegetarian restaurant.

The Farm Bar and Grille in Manchester and Dover, in addition to serving luscious Angus beef burgers smothered in BBQ, offer their own veggie version made with carrots, zucchini, string beans, onions, soybeans, peas, broccoli and more.

Looking for a burger that is other than beef? You’ll find elk, bison and venison burgers at the Hungry Buffalo in Loudon.

Lastly, all the burger-centric places listed here offered their own versions of burgers for vegans and/or vegetarians, including Lexie’s Joint, which offers different options daily.
