March is the best time to pick up some local maple syrup products

Maple syrup in March is freshly distilled, but there are more ways to enjoy this sweet elixir. Find maple-based products easily by visiting a farmers market or one of the retail shops that carry local goods. Maple Butter, Maple Cream or Maple Barbeque Sauce

Try the cream/butter on pancakes, toast or muffins. It’s fat-free and packed with flavor. It's also delicious on various vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts, acorn or butternut squash. The Barbeque Sauce works well as a glaze for salmon, poultry or pork.
