The Kitchen
Special burgers here have included the Apu Nahasapetilon with an Indian spiced lamb burger, paneer cheese, jalapeno-mango chutney, cilantro-lime mayo and crumbled pistacchio ($12). On the menu is the Franky Boom Bahtz burger ($9), 6 ounces of grilled Angus with bleu cheese, fried egg, roasted red peppers and a mushroom/olive duxelle. Both are mounted on a rich and soft Miami Onion roll or gluten-free bread.

Riverhouse Café
Burgers are kind of a thing here. The blackboard is chalked in with 10 variations, all made from hand-pattied meat sourced locally and nicely presented. The Smokestack is created with bacon, Vermont cheddar, grilled tomato and a house-made smoky tomato sauce ($9.99).

Union Street Grill
Chef and owner Kevin Stephens puts a lot of love into his food all-around. A special 6-ounce burger is created every couple days using everything from Andouille sausage and cheddar to chipotle mayo, house-made salsa and sour cream to roasted peppers and bacon. All char-broiled burgers are perched on Fantini bulkie rolls. $7.39 to $8.89 with fries.

Yankee Chef
Each burger is made with six ounces of beef from Trombly Gardens of Milford. With great beef it’s often best to keep it simple. The Traditional Trombly burger is just that — a burger on a brioche roll with pickle and fries.

Waterworks Café
Tucked in the back of the Waumbec Mill, Waterworks Café serves up great fries and the best way to get them is free with any of their burgers. The classic is served on a toasted brioche bun with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions and green leaf lettuce ($10).
