Best of NH 2012 Regional Favorite Restaurants

Here they are - Your 2012 Readers' Poll choices for favorite restaurants form each region of the state. Included are The Barley House, Flying Goose Brew Pub & Grille, Libby's Bistro, Giorgio's, the Colosseum and more!




The Barley House in Concord

Concord Area Favorite Restaurant: Located across the street from the Capitol in Concord, The Barley House is a go-to spot for everything from burgers and fries to gluten-free offerings.

Concord Area Favorite Restaurant (Local Chain): The Common Man in Concord allow diners to enjoy its classic American menu in an expanded lounge and deck area.

Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Regional Favorite Restaurant: In addition to serving up hearty pub food and micro-brew beers, The Flying Goose Brew Pub & Grille in New London was just awarded the New London Energy Committee's "Sustainable Business of the Year" prize.

Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Regional Favorite Restaurant (Local chain): The Claremont location of The Common Man is housed in a mill building on Sugar River with a stunning deck above the roiling river.

Great North Woods Regional Favorite Restaurant: Libby's Bistro & Saalt Pub in Gorham uses locally grown ingredients to create highly-acclaimed dishes. Libby's Bistro is also undergoing renovations and menu updates, so look out for the grand re-opening sometime this year.

Lakes Region Favorite Restaurant: Hart's Turkey Farm in Meredith has been owned and operated by the Hart family since 1954. Today, the restaurant serves Thanksgiving staples all year long.

Lakes Region Favorite Restaurant (Local Chain): The Common Man in Ashland is the chain's flagship location, open since 1971. It's a wonderful local classic.

Manchester Area Favorite Restaurant: It may be hard to go for anything but the legendary chicken fingers, but Manchester's Puritan Backroom has a huge menu of great choices that make it an annual Best of NH winner.

Manchester Area Favorite Restaurant (Local Chain): The Common Man's Merrimack outpost has the cache of operating in the former home of Declaration of Independence signer Matthew Thornton.

Nashua Area Favorite Restaurant: Lui Lui in Nashua has everything a good Italian eatery should - pasta, brick oven pizza, calzones and more - in a family-friendly environment.

Monadnock Region Favorite Restaurant: Giorgio's Ristorante in Milford is a great change of pace, featuring a full menu of Mediterranean food

Salem Area Favorite Restaurant: Native Italian Annibale Todesca opened Colosseum in Salem in 1987 and he continues to serve the southern Italian food he grew up with, always ensuring the ingredients are bought fresh daily.

Salem Area Favorite Restaurant (Local Chain): Windham's Common Man Restaurant is full of New Hampshire charm, as it operates out of a large red barn. The second-floor loft offers lighter fare.

Seacoast Region Favorite Restaurant: The Portsmouth Brewery in Portsmouth has won countless awards for its home-brewed beers, but the food is worth the trip as well.

White Mountains Region Favorite Restaurant: The Woodstock Inn Station & Brewery in Lincoln allows diners to watch brewers at work as they complete their artisan ales.
