Mexican Restaurants

With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, I thought I'd take a look at some options for Mexican dining. Next month, I'll be featuring restaurants with outdoor seating. If you know of a great one or have an idea for a future story, post a comments on the wall of my Facebook page.

IN A WORDPochito's Restaurant & Cantina

33 S. Commercial Street Manchester

Tucked away in the you'd-never-know-it's-there location of the former Commercial Street Fishery on the way to the Fisher Cats' stadium and the Hilton Garden Inn.

$2 for an individual taco to $14.95 for an entree.

This is a convenient spot to grab a bite before or after a Fisher Cats game, but get there early to secure a seat.

Shorty's Mexican Roadhouse

Manchester & Nashua

Both locations are a mash-up of Mexican styling and diner decor.

$6.99 for an individual taco to $14.95 for an entree. Haddock is fresh, not frozen.

Try their famous River City Beans, which are especially great in a taco salad.

Pedraza's Mexican Restaurant

45 Central Square Keene

A popular spot for a quick bite in Keene, Pedrazza's claims to offer "real Mexican food."

$2.50 for an individual taco to $16.95 for an entree.

On a nice day, order your food "to go" and sit on a bench in Central Sq. to watch the action.

Perfect for the diner on a budget, with $1.99 margaritas at the Lebanon location.

$1.99 for an individual taco to $14.99 for an entree.

You can order takeout online for the Hanover location. Or take a Salsa dance lesson.

ColorfulCafe Noche

147 Main St.

Conway Village

A three-time "Best of NH" winner, Cafe Noche is a convenient stop on your way to or from Mt. Washington Valley.

$2.75 for an individual tack to $13.75 for an entree.

Try Tom's margarita, featuring Hornitos, Gran Gala and cranberry, or any of the local beers.
