11:00 AM

This event occurs daily, every 1 day(s).

Join the Mariposa Museum & World Culture Center from July 5, 2014, to January 31, 2015, for a special exhibition tracing the historic trail of chocolate around the world!

Discover chocolate’s origins in ancient Mexico, find out what role Caribbean sugar played in the birth of the American candy shop, and learn how chocolate evolved from a drink into the delectable form we know and love today.

As a special treat, partake in a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s beloved classic "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," offered in partnership with the Roald Dahl Literary Estate. Learn about Dahl's role in the chocolate industry and how he came to create this classic tale, create your own chocolaty masterpiece in the Wonka Invention Room, then see if you can find a Golden Ticket to win a fabulous prize! Museum hours: July 5–August 31, 2014: open every day from 11–5; September 1, 2014–January 31, 2015: Wed.–Sun. 11–5.
