Continuing the tradition since the Festival's founding, the Great Waters Festival Chorus will present an evening of superb choral music under the direction of Dr. Christopher Shepard.
The Great Waters Music Festival Chorus annually brings together over 100 selected singers from the Eastern Seaboard for an exciting musical experience rehearsing and performing choral masterpieces.
The centerpiece of this year's Festival is an abridged version of Leonard Bernstein's "Mass" commissioned in 2008 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Bernstein's birth. The chorus will also perform the five spirituals from Sir Michael Tippett's "A Child of Our Time." Rounding out this program are three beloved Verdi opera choruses:
"Brindisi" from La Traviata, "The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves" from Nabucco and the "Anvil Chorus" from Il Trovatore.
