Members of the Rich Greenblatt Quintet will be providing an afternoon jazz workshop focusing on ensemble playing and improvisation. The workshop will be held at the Monadnock Center for History & Culture in Peterborough (NH) on Saturday, May 11th, from 3 p.m. – 5p.m. The Quintet will be performing a concert later that evening at the Center.
All five members of the group are instructors at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, as well as being seasoned performers in various musical configurations. They are excited about coming to Peterborough and working with anyone who would like to explore their own inner jazz musician. The workshop is open to anyone high school age and beyond who has a basic knowledge of their instrument and is able to read charts. Instruments can include woodwinds and horns, and there are limited slots for piano, percussion, and bass. The cost of the workshop is $20, and advance registration is required.
Members of the Quintet are: Rich Greenblatt, vibes; Steve Langone, percussion; Gilson Schachnik, piano; Allan Chase, saxophone; John Funkhouser, bass.
