Asian Ink with Wendilee Heath-O'Brien - Art Workshop

May 30, 2014 to Jun 1, 2014
03:00 PM

Wendilee is a talented watercolor, pastel, oil and Asian Ink painter. Her whopaints Studio and Gallery is located in Winter Harbor, Maine, where art is created and enjoyed.

As an artist her vision is clear, diverse mediums and styles, grown from Quaker practices convey a deep reverence for nature. Her art work will be on display at the Snowvillage Inn starting April 1 until May 31, please come by to have a look at her inspirational art.

This workshop is for artists looking to capture the essence of what is being painted. The artist must learn to charge and move the brush to portray their inner spirit. Wendilee will guide the artists to overcome the pursuit of illuminating the chi required for this technique.

The instruction will be on Saturday May 31, 2014, in two sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. At first, the artists will learn to understand the diverse properties of the Asian Painter’s supplies. The paper, colors and sumi (pine pitch ink) react differently producing reminiscent value changes in comparison to western art materials. The afternoon class will offer guidance for creating compositions by exploring how to see objects in different planes.
